I was recently sitting at one of my favorite coffee shops drinking a chai tea latte when I overheard the table next to me planning a fundraiser event for a local dog shelter. I was thinking to myself how cool it was that they were getting involved in the community when I suddenly looked to my right and I saw an interview being conducted. That ultimately led me to admiring everyone from afar for all the work they were doing. It made me appreciate that there was a special place like this where people felt comfortable to come to work on their dreams, catch up with a good friend, or…

Our Love Story
Warning: Gushy post alert. Five years ago today, I started dating this amazing human being! I am so grateful to have met such a caring, smart, & inspiring person. Now, I am not saying our relationship has been butterflies and rainbows. We were not together one of those five years, but I can truly say we are currently right where we’re supposed to be. Throughout our time together, we learned what building a long-term relationship looks like and now understand it takes a heck of a lot more work than we thought. Every day, we have to practice patience and communication at the ultimate level. This means that we are…

Traveling on a Budget
In recent years, I have gained a lot of interest in traveling. I used to be the girl that would spend money on the materialistic things rather than on experiences. I would actually say, “why would I spend money on something that will eventually end, when I could buy a pair of shoes that will last years?” Thankfully I learned early on that is not the way I want to live. The feeling of purchasing things is great in the moment, but it goes away faster than it takes me to put the shoes away. Growing up, I never took trips or vacations anywhere, so I didn’t really know what…

20 Q&A Featuring My Boyfriend, Marcus!
Happy April everyone! On my last blog post I answered 20 questions about myself and really enjoyed contemplating my thoughts. I was working on these next to my boyfriend, Marcus, and thought it might be fun to have him answer the same 20 questions and feature him in a post. It’s interesting to see how our answers compare. Here are his unedited answers… 1. What are your top 3 favorite movies? I’m sitting here watching Mr. Deeds, a long time favorite. I typically don’t like to watch a movie more than once, but when some of my most quoted movie lines from when I was a kid are playing, it’s…

Meet the Blogger – 20 Q&A
Hey wonderful people!! I can’t believe it is already March! Since we’re a little over 3 months into the year, this would be a good time to set up a coffee date with yourself and look at your progress in tackling your 2019 goals. I know as the year starts ramping up, it might seem like your goals are starting to get out of focus. That is the reason I like to keep myself in check and remember what i’m striving for. Meanwhile, I am also getting excited for some fun things coming up in 2019. Woot! For this post, I thought it would be fun to do a Q&A…

Defining Yourself
Isn’t it interesting that basically our entire lives before college are all planned out for us and then after college, we are just supposed to figure it all out for ourselves? We go to elementary school, then to middle school and high school, then to college, and then you have your degree in hand, but then what? There is no definite answer. Life after college is so different from what we’re used to. Instead of filling the bulk of time attending class and completing homework, we are spending at least 40 hours a week at work. After our long work day has ended, we suddenly have this free time where…

What Lie Do You Tell Yourself?
Guys, I just finished reading Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. If you are one of the millions who have read it like me, did it make you overwhelmingly motivated and want to accomplish the world? Yeah, me too. I first heard about Rachel Hollis from my mentor and since then, I have been obsessed with her work. I have listened to dozens of her podcasts, read her book, and went to the theater to watch her documentary Made for More. She has been a great life coach to me and she doesn’t even know it! I think it is amazing that she is being so vulnerable and willing…

No Technology Weekend?
Marcus and I decided it would be a good idea to detox from technology for a short period since we knew it was starting to control our lives. So, the weekend of December 14, 2018 we decided to put our phones, laptops, and TV’s away. No access. No exceptions. We told our families and posted a few short words on social media that we would be going off the grid for the next 40 hours. We understand that this isn’t a lengthy amount of time, but we wanted to dip our toes in the water before completely jumping in. We decided we would put our devices away at 6:30 PM…
